In the year 2046, advanced neuroālink technology called āNeuroāÆLinkersā allow people to plug into virtual networks and immersive online worlds. Haruyuki Arita is a short, chubby, socially isolated junior high student who is frequently bullied by his classmates. To escape his reality, he spends hours online playing games where he excels, but feels powerless in real life. One day, he is suddenly introduced to a mysterious program called Brain Burst by Kuroyukihime, the popular viceāpresident of the student council. BraināÆBurst is more than a gameāit allows players (called Burst Linkers) to accelerate their cognitive processes so that time appears to slow down around them.
