A teenage girl was murdered in Kaliningrad. Investigator Eva Kaidas recalls that 20 years ago, 13 girls were killed in a similar way, the maniac was never found. Then the maniac, changing his voice, talked live with the famous local journalist Roman Rakhmanov, host of the talk show "Voice of the Monster". Eva and Roman, having gone through a complete rejection of each other, a passionate romance and mutual suspicion, uncover a convoluted series of murders stretching for 20 years, as well as cope with their own fears and long-standing mental trauma.
